US $20 gold coin double eagle MCMVII 1907?

by on 2011/01/08

the coin is nearly 5 mm thick and about 7.5 cm in diameter. it does not say in god we trust. it has the double eagle on one side and the lady in the dress on the other side. If anyone has any information on how much it is worth or anything else please let me know.

An authentic Saint-Gaudens 1907 US gold double eagle would have a diameter near 34 millimeters (1 1/3 inches), with a weight of about 33.4 grams. Also, I believe the thickness varies between 2mm and 4mm depending upon the variety. You might have a replica, so I would recommend taking the item to a local coin expert or two for an evaluation. I hope that helps.
